CULTURE

It is a way of life that is learned, shared ,transmitted from one generation to another....some believe that human behavior is learnt whereas animal behaviour is instinctive...this is true but not to that extend....coz if we notice...ants learn their way back home by going over tables ,etc...same is the case with most animals such as bees and birds...scientists wanted to determine if animals can learn behaviour..they threw potatoes in a jungle..where there were alot of monkeys...if animal behaviour was instinctive the monkeys wouldnt have eaten the potatoes..but they did...when a young couple had their first child...they brought home a baby monkey too .till the age of 2 both of them learnt at the same pace...but after which the learning capabilties of the monkey declined.....so it is not right when we say that animal behaviour is instinctive ...its just that the importance of learnt behaviour for humans is far more greater than animals....

So now the question is how is human behaviour learnd ...its is learnt through a process called socialization...delinquent behaviour occurs due to lack of socialization.....when a person is not socialized enough to understand the values and follow the norms of the society....and over-socialization can even occur ..if the person is unable to cope up with the overall demands of the society....

Culture even needs to be shared...according to a research..two people were left in a hall t converse ..one of them was from north America and the other one was from south america...they started their conversation from one end of the hall to another....it was because they were brought up differently ...the south american was trying to maintain some distance....and the north american's culture was all about touching...if culture is not shared conflicts mifght occur....

To satisfy the defination of culture provided above it even needs to be transmitted...now i m sure all of us know 'tarzan' ....some real life examples could be 'Anna and Assabella' and the 'wolf children'...these kids were found in jungle ,here they recieved no socialization ...due to which they dint know how to talk,walk or eat.so if a human is not socialized it may not behave the way humans do......
